Job Description:
The position of Inventory Specialist entails the responsibility of managing inventory and administrative tasks at the site level.
The main objective is to ensure visibility into capacity constraints and facilitate material planning and workflow.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Ownership of Inventory Storage, Handling, and Processing:
Upload daily inventory counts and strategically place inventory to minimize overprocessing waste.
Conduct regular inventory cycle counts.
Provide IB shipment data to shipping department for cost and placement location purposes.
Implement problem-solving techniques and deploy 5S in the shipping/receiving areas.
Maximize storage tower capacity to fully utilize floor/rack space.
Manage order cancellations and modifications.
Consolidate tags as needed.
Determine advanced placement of material and packaging for work centers.
Handle scrap management.
Manage Lift tags.
Planning Support:
Receive cross-training in material planning to serve as backup.
Oversee administrative functions within the planning department.
Act as a liaison between planning and operations departments.
Assist with remote stock (Los Angeles) and customer contract shipments.
Operational Support:
Gather data for the Gemba boards and take responsibility for inventory action items related to the Gemba process.
Understand the material flow lifecycle from order generation to production and shipping of finished goods for each machine.
Provide general support for Stratix.
Product Development:
Lead efforts with customers and key suppliers to drive and participate in the development of new products to expand UPM's product range for related markets or customer/OEM supply chains.
Reporting and Communication:
Report current and ongoing activities.
Submit timely sales/product call reports.
Participate in weekly sales call-in meetings.
Assist in the preparation of presentations for sales, management, customers, and suppliers.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Effective communication skills.
EDUCATION and/or
Experience:
Minimum of an Associate College Degree AND 3
years of experience in Inventory Management or Planning.

Salary info:
