POSITION SUMMARY
Scientific leadership role in a technical services group with an emphasis on analytical chemistry and product characterization.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Manage the Technical Services chemistry and characterization laboratory including mentoring and supervision of direct reports and/or contingent workers.
. Work collaboratively with process engineers, quality control chemists, development scientists, manufacturing and quality assurance personnel to meet business needs.
. Critically evaluate and interpret data and assist in the resolution of complex problems.
. Proactive and collaborative support of investigations.
. Creation of experimental plans and protocols, execution of work, analysis of results, oral and written communication of study results.
. SME for drug products and key critical raw materials.
. Tracking, trending, and statistical analysis of product and key raw material attributes.
. Develop an understanding of the relationship between process performance and product attributes.
. Preparation of technical reports, presentations, regulatory submissions.
. Formal and informal communications with internal and external business partners.
. Provide analytical chemistry methodology and characterization input to support pharmaceutical development, contract service organizations and business partners.
. Stay current on advances in analytical methodology and equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelors degree in Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences, advanced degree preferred.
Experience/Skills: Strong background (7-10
years of experience) with a wide range of analytical characterization techniques and equipment. Proficient in statistical analysis. Experience in leading and working on diverse cross-functional teams. GMP experience required.
